Abbotsford Agrifair opens this morning

The Abbotsford Agrifair is opening up this morning, with something for everybody.

Agrifair is an annual celebration of the city’s agricultural heritage, running Friday to Sunday at Abbotsford Exhibition Park., with the first venues opening up at 9 a.m. daily.

The fair includes a midway, the Laughing Loggers Lumberjack Show, Richard’s Racing pigs and ducks, professional wrestling, the Dock Dog Show, and more.

The Fraserway RV Family Fun Building returns this year and includes mini golf, Lego, a reading area, Science World shows, arts and crafts, and more.

Free diapers, wipes and water are also available in the building, which is free with admission to the fair.

For those who like some fast-paced action, the motorsport arena at Agrifair features a demolition derby and the Global FMX motocross show.

The Agrifair grounds will also include roving entertainment such as clowns, balloon artists, Tristan the Kite Flyer, and magician Gary Savard.

Featured on the main stage will be Celebrating Diversity on Friday night, a Battle of the Bands on Saturday followed by headliner Jojo Mason on Saturday, and headliner Citizen Way on Sunday.

The fair also features 4H shows and competitions all weekend, as well as antique farm machinery displays and demos, the Country Horse Classic, the Mobile Dairy Classroom and the Poultry in Motion mini barn.

The RCMP Musical Ride performs Friday at 3 p.m., Saturday at 12:30 and 4:30 p.m., and Sunday at 3 p.m.

Agrifair runs from 10 a.m to 11 p.m. (gates close at 10 p.m.) daily. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and free for kids 10 and under.
