Vanderpol's Eggs and Vitalus Nutrition recently presented a cheque of $30,000 to Canuck Place Children's Hospice in Abbotsford.

The funds were donated during the company's annual staff President's Brunch, with Mayor Bruce Banman in attendance, on Dec. 12.

During the event, company presidents Mike Vanderpol and Phil Vanderpol made and served breakfast to all the staff in the office and in production.

Canuck Place is currently under construction on Marshall Road as part of the Dave Lede Campus of Care adjacent to Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

It will provide palliative care to children with life-threatening illnesses, as well as respite and family support, pain and symptom management, grief and loss counselling, and end-of-life care.

The Abbotsford site will begin offering on-site services in the new year, gradually building up to its full complement of programs.

The Campus of Care also includes Matthew's House, a respite facility for children with severe disabilities that opened last month, and the Abbotsford Hospice Society's Holmberg House, an adult hospice expected to open late next year.
