To reach 250 of anything is impressive, but one Abbotsford man has done something particularly noble, with Dean Lenglet recently making his 250th blood donation.

This is a journey that has been nearly 40 years in the making, with Lenglet making his first donation back in 1986.

"I feel exhilarated that I was able to get this far and to be able to help so many," said Lenglet.

The 65-year-old has now reached a milestone that not many people ever get to, and he has no plans of stopping.

"I like knowing that I am making a difference in people's lives, and I also like joking with the lovely ladies at the plasma centre in Abbotsford," he said. "They make the donation experience a good one. If you have never done this before, why not try and help someone?"

Canadian Blood Services stated that more than 100,000 new donors are needed every year in order to keep up with the demand and keep saving lives.
