The recent Crystal Gala in Abbotsford raised almost $525,000 for breast health, including through its silent auction.
The recent 24th annual Crystal Gala fundraiser in Abbotsford raised just under $525,000 for breast health at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre (ARHCC) and beyond.

The event was held Oct. 26 with the theme An Evening in the Alps. More than 400 guests attended the event at the Ag-Rec Centre.

The evening included dinner, silent and live auctions, games, entertainment, dancing and speeches from breast cancer survivor Leanne Dean; Corlea Smit, supervisor of mammography at ARHCC; and breast cancer patient Tim Epp.

The Crystal Gala Foundation plans to contribute $500,000 towards a replacement MRI for the hospital before the end of this year, with the installation expected to be complete in 2026.

Funds will also go towards Contrast Enhanced Mammography software, which is expected to be operational in December.

Plans are already underway for the 25th Crystal Gala on Oct. 25, 2025.
