Some of the best in local business were officially recognized earlier today (Thursday) at the 2020 Abbotsford Business Excellence Awards, which were presented by the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce and the Abbotsford News.
The virtual ceremony honoured businesses operating in a philanthropic and empathetic manner, especially with those who persevered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ABEA’s highlight businesses focused on the safety and well-being of those they work with and serve. They recognize businesses showing leadership in the development of new strategies to serve and meet the needs of the community. And, the awards put a spotlight on businesses that have pivoted production or developed new business, products or services in an innovate way to meet unique demands during the pandemic.
“Each year, the Business Excellence Awards recognize outstanding businesses, organizations and individuals in Abbotsford that strive for excellence in our community,” stated Mayor Henry Braun. “This year more than ever, these awards are an important recognition of local businesses providing services to our residents and community partners when we need them most.”
“The theme of this year’s awards is showcasing business innovation and resilience, as well as the excellence that our businesses have shown in persevering and supporting our community and local economy throughout 2020, a year that has been like no other in our history. Through the categories of Innovation Excellence, Frontline Excellence, Community Contribution, and Outstanding Support this year’s nominees and winners most certainly capture the best in true community spirit and support.”
