Local company suggests blue bags as a fundraising opportunity

Green is Blue is a new, eco-minded fundraising program which provides groups the ability to raise funds while promoting recycling. Participants sell a locally manufactured roll of 50 blue bags, conceivably a year’s supply.

The program is intended for athletic teams, dance groups, youth groups and other organizations to use as an alternative to unhealthy chocolates, donuts, cookie dough, etc. It was initially launched in the Lower Mainland.

The Green is Blue fundraising program was created by Dean Shepit, co-owner of Clean Answers, a locally owned and operated business for nearly 25 years. Clean Answers teaches local businesses how to in-source their cleaning while providing janitorial supplies and support. Shepit sees Green is Blue as a way for organizations to continually contribute to the environment while raising funds.

“As apposed to purchasing an overpriced chocolate bar, the purchaser gets a product they are likely already using, or should be using. This makes the sale easy for groups and leaves them confident in their contribution to the environment.”

Organizations who would like more information, or who are interested in participating, can call Dean at Clean Answers, 604-850-8508, or email, dean@greenisblue.ca.
