“It’s a great honour to receive this award from McDonald’s,” said Powers. “To be recognized for my efforts and successes at my restaurant is a tremendous achievement for me. I love my job and am thrilled to have the opportunity to build such a rewarding career.”

Powers began her 15-year career with McDonald’s as a crew person at the Ellwood Centre McDonald’s in Abbotsford. Since starting with the company, she has been awarded the 2009 Restaurant of the Year Award as well as the 2009 Ray Kroc Award which is awarded to the top one per cent of managers in Canada. She has held her current position as manager for the past nine years and truly appreciates the people she works with and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with customers and crew.
