Bio:
John Sutherland is an Abbotsford School Trustee and vice-chair of the Board of Education. He serves as chair of the Policy Committee and as a member of the Communications Committee, Abbotsford Social Development Committee, and District Aboriginal Education Committee.
Sutherland earned a MBA from Queen's University and a Masters of Biblical Studies from Trinity Divinity School in Chicago. He is a retired professor and university dean who has worked in various positions at King's University College, the Christian Labour Association of Canada, Trinity Western University, UBC, and Regent College. He now works half-time as a pastor at neXus Church and adjunct professor of business at Trinity Western.
In the community, Sutherland is a member of the Abbotsford Social Development Advisory Committee, and commissioner with the parks, recreation and culture commission. He has also published books on moral and ethical perspectives on bankruptcy, and on labour relations and justice in the workplace.
