For the third time this season, the Calgary Flames have recalled goalie Leland Irving from the Abbotsford Heat.
The Flames are now carrying three healthy goalies, with Irving joining Miikka Kiprusoff and Henrik Karlsson in Calgary. The move seems to signal that Irving will get a start for the Flames at some point in the near future.
The Swan Hills, Alta. native has a 1-1-3 record with the Flames this season, to go with a 3.26 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. He's 17-9-1 with the Heat, with a 2.31 goals-against and a 9.15 save percentage.
To fill in for Irving, the Heat recalled David Brown from the Quad City Mallards of the CHL. Brown and Danny Taylor comprise the Heat's goaltending tandem for the time being.
