For the first time since 1947, playoff professional basketball is back in B.C. on Sunday (Aug. 15) when the Fraser Valley Bandits host the Guelph Nighthawks in Canadian Elite Basketball League quarter-final action.

The game, which will be broadcast nationwide on CBC, tips off at 1 p.m.

The Bandits finished the regular season on Tuesday (Aug. 10) with a second straight win over the Saskatchewan Rattlers in Saskatoon. Fraser Valley beat Saskatchewan 84-79, just days after beating them 85-79 on Sunday (Aug. 9).

The Bandits finished the season at 7-7 and placed fourth overall. Guelph heads to the Abbotsford Centre after a 5-9 season. The two teams met once this season, with Fraser Valley earning a 92-71 win at home back on July 15.

Limited tickets are available for the game, which is expected to be a sell-out.
