A racer makes her way through last year’s Nanaimo Foam Fest. The event comes to Abbotsford in June.

The foam is coming to Abbotsford this summer.

For the first time ever, the 5K Foam Fest event invades Exhibition Park on June 3.

The Abbotsford course has over 20 obstacles for competitors to take on, including mud pits, the world's largest inflatable waterslide, a foamy start and finish line, and many more.

The event is open to anyone aged eight or over, but children aged eight to 12 must run with a registered adult.

The five-kilometre race is for both beginners and experienced runners.

Registration for the Abbotsford event recently opened, and pricing goes up as the event draws closer. Race fee includes a finisher's medal, a beach towel, access to showers following the race and much more.

Abbotsford is one of 12 Canadian stops for the series, which also runs races in the United States.

Other BC stops include Sun Peaks and Nanaimo.
