Abbotsford's Alex Allan has been named to the Team BC U18 female hockey team.

An Abbotsford hockey product is set to represent the province on the ice this November.

It was announced on Monday that Abbotsford's Alex Allan is set to don the Team BC jersey at the 2016 National Women's U18 Championship in Regina later this year.

Allan, who plays for the Richmond-based Pacific Steelers of the Junior Women's Hockey League, will be one of seven defencemen on the team's roster.

The 16-year-old played last season on the Greater Vancouver Comets of the British Columbia Female Midget AAA league. She picked up five goals and nine assists with the Comets last season.

Also on the team is Aldergrove's Amy Potomak, a teammate of Allan's on the Steelers. She suits up as a forward on the team.

Team BC will travel to Regina, Sask., for pre-stage camp from Nov. 5 to 8, before taking on Manitoba in their first game of the tournament on Nov. 9.
