The Abbotsford Angels Mosquito Tier 1 team celebrates a tournament win earlier this year. The team hosts several teams at the Can-Am tournament later this month.

Some of the best young baseball players in the Pacific Northwest are set to invade Abbotsford later this month.

The first ever U11 Can-Am baseball tournament runs from July 15 to 17 at Lions Park and Centennial Park.

It's the first time the Abbotsford Angels Hardball Association has hosted a tournament like this for U11 players. The AAHA mosquito teams have been successful in winning four of the last five provincial titles and it was decided that it was time to bring the best from elsewhere to battle the locals.

The event will feature both Tier 1 and Tier 1 teams, with the Angels being represented in both Tiers.

Tier 1 teams include: the Cascade Crush (from Bellingham), Cloverdale Spurs, Kamloops Riverdogs, Nanaimo Pirates, Ridge Meadows Royals, Victoria Eagles and White Rock Tritons.

Tier 2 teams competing are: the Aldergrove Dodgers, Chilliwack Cougars, Kamloops Riverdogs, Ladner Red Sox, North Delta Rays, North Langley Trappers and Victoria Eagles.
