Figure skaters excel at Skate Canada Western Challenge

Pairs figure skaters from the Abbotsford Skating Club turned in solid performances at the Skate Canada Western Challenge in Regina last week.

Tyler Miller and Alex Linden finished third in the novice pairs dance competition, which qualified them for the Skate Canada National Championships in Mississauga, Ont., Jan. 13-20.

Megan Geddes and Gary Tsai placed 11th in the pre-novice pairs freeskate, which was the national event in their category.

Both duos had qualified for the Regina event via the B.C./Yukon sectionals in mid-November. Geddes and Tsai won their division, while Miller and Linden finished second.
