The University of the Fraser Valley men’s basketball team moved up one spot to No. 7 in the CIS national rankings in the aftermath of Saturday’s upset win over UBC.
The Cascades (3-3) beat the then-No. 1 Thunderbirds 89-77, following a narrow 76-71 loss the night before. The latest national poll, released Tuesday, also saw UBC fall to No. 3.
The UFV women’s hoopsters (6-0), coming off a sweep of UBC, stayed put at No. 2 in the rankings.
• The Cascades basketball teams are at home this weekend, hosting the Manitoba Bisons (Friday, women 6 p.m., men 8 p.m.) and the Winnipeg Wesmen (Saturday, women 5 p.m., men 7 p.m.).
