Weekend split for Pilots
The Abbotsford Pilots claimed three of a possible four points in weekend Pacific Junior Hockey League action.
The Pilots dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the Aldergrove Kodiaks on Friday at MSA Arena. Abbotsford held a 2-1 lead in the third period on goals by Dakota Schipper and Kyle Star, but Aldergrove's Tyson Solotki scored the equalizer and Stefan Gonzales notched the game-winner in OT.
On Saturday, the Pilots out-shot the Port Moody Panthers 47-17 on the road, en route to a 4-3 triumph. Goals by Chris Vinette, Devon Allenby, Luke Venema and Brett Kolins staked Abby to a 4-1 lead, but they had to stave off a late Panthers rally.
• The Pilots (11-5-2) host the North Vancouver Wolf Pack on Friday (7:30 p.m., MSA Arena).
