Angels beat Triumph in Lingerie Football League action in Abbotsford

The B.C. Angels played their second and final home game of the Lingerie Football League season at Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre on Saturday night, and came up with a 31-27 win over the Toronto Triumph.

There was a crowd of approximately 3,000 on hand for the spectacle, and a straw poll of the mostly young male spectators showed they were enjoying the show.

"It's unbelievable," said Mike Patron of Coquitlam, who was on board a party bus with about 40 people who came from Coquitlam for the game.

"Fans should come and check it out, before they assume what it is," he said, adding there has been too much controversy over what the girls are wearing.

"It's actually a good game, too."

Richard Wells of Hope said the people in the crowd were clearly enjoying themselves, and the event makes for a fun atmosphere, and an affordable night out.

"The crowd is into it, and everyone's cheering and yelling," heĀ  said. "It's a good night for adults. It's something different."

Even a pair of women in attendance were impressed, saying the girls are "inspiring" athletes.

Both the league and the AESC management have been happy with the games, and say a deal for next season will soon be in the works.
