Sports in brief: Mountain bike events coming to Mission
MOUNTAIN BIKE MANIA
A pair of major mountain bike races are hitting the hills of Mission on Canada Day weekend.
The Red Mountain cross-country and Bear Mountain downhill challenges are set to go, with the cross-country race on June 30 and the downhill on July 1. Parking for the races is at 10969 Dewdney Trunk Rd., by the Mill Pond. For more information or to register, visit www.bearmountainchallenge.com.
HOOPS CAMP COMING UP
Athletes in Action is hosting a basketball camp in Abbotsford next month.
The event runs July 9-13 at Abbotsford Christian Assembly (3970 Gladwin Rd.). Athletes age 5-8 hit the court from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by an afternoon session for ages 9-11 from 1-4 p.m. To register, visit athletesinaction.com.
