Proud to call Abbotsford home

As I sit here cozy and warm relaxing by the fire, I can’t help but think back to where we were as a family just over a year ago.

A journey too long to tell left us with only our bedding and clothing.

My husband and I, with our four precious children, ranging in age from 14 to two, were starting at zero.

We camped in a borrowed trailer at Bridal Falls, and drove into Abbotsford in a friend’s 1976 Mercedes.

We chose to land in Abbotsford for no particular reason; we just needed to start somewhere.

From the moment we walked into a realtor’s office to now, we have been blessed with kindness.

Complete strangers have become friends and have given us all we have today.

Things we only dreamed about have happened and we are so grateful.

My three oldest children have joined team sports through the generosity of Canadian Tire Jump Start, and have loved every second of it.

All we can say is thank you!

Thanks, St. Anne’s Church, and all those who helped make our Christmas the best we have ever had.

I don’t know where life will take us, but for now I am so proud to say I live in a city with very kind and generous people.

We look forward to the day that we can help others the way we have been helped.
