LETTER: New West found a solution

In regards to James Breckenridge’s letter concerning Abbotsford’s homeless population.

The city of New Westminster has obviously found the template for solving  some of the nation’s greatest problems  of homelessness, mental illness and addiction.

They found that the actual solution is to give them a job and a place to live, and it’s proven to be cost effective as well.

Go figure!

Unfortunately, Abbotsford and other communities across the nation are still taking the old school approach on dealing with our challenged society.

New Westminster’s approach should be commended and considered a serious alternative to tending those who count on us, instead of treating them punitively.

Art Green, Hope
