LETTER: We could learn a thing or two

Re: Skinning rabbits (The News, Nov. 8).

Canadians waste about as much food as we eat, because we don’t appreciate the true cost.

It seems to me that if you aren’t willing to see where your food comes from, then you probably shouldn’t eat it (wieners, anyone?). This “authentic Indigenous experience,” as it was called, is simply what it means to be part of the food chain.

Every animal we eat meets some violent end, and if you want to pretend that your steak or salami or stewed rabbit magically appeared the way you see it on your plate, then you should probably just stick with veggies.

We could stand to learn a thing or two from Indigenous people.
