LETTER: Traffic enforcement lacking

Traffic enforcement is severely lacking in our city ...

Traffic enforcement is severely lacking in our city, based on the high number of moving offences and illegally modified vehicles, which is putting public safety at risk.

A minimum of 10 per cent of our local police department should be full-time traffic enforcement officers driving unmarked vehicles, and these officers should easily pay for themselves through tickets issued.

These officers could be either police officers, or much lower paid unarmed traffic enforcement officers as successfully used in Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Territories.
