LETTER: Commend students who staged pro-life display

Protection of those who are unable to speak for themselves

Re: Campus display at UFV

I would like to commend the UFV students who put on the recent pro-life display on campus.  It’s wonderful to see young people express their respect and compassion for innocent human lives. We have been without a law to protect the unborn in Canada since 1973. Since then it is conservatively estimated that over one hundred million unborn children have been killed by abortion in Canada and America.

Today, I read that Beata Szydlo, the female prime minister of Poland, is supporting legislation in her country that would protect unborn children. She said, “If we want to re-establish order in Poland, we need to start with the most fundamental thing: the protection of human life.” She went on to say, “If I had to make a prediction, I would say that the overwhelming majority in Poland, if not all, will vote to ban abortion."

Those of us who mourn the disposable slaughter of innocents in our country may take some hope that the humane position of leaders like Ms. Szydlo may spread to other nations. I commend these UFV students who are speaking out for the protection of those who are unable to speak for themselves.
