William R., resident of Abbotsford, passed away on April 10, 2007 into the presence of his Lord and reunited his wife Nellie Matilda (1910-1990). Dad was born on May 24, 1907 in Sweden to Frank and Ellen Gustafson. Shortly after they immigrated to Canada, where they homesteaded in Lacombe, Alta., and Lincoln District and later he worked as a truck driver and mechanic. In July 1935 he married Nellie Maltilda Spencer. They took over the family farm, where he raised livestock and registered grain. He also hauled cattle, grain and cleared land for the local farmers. Their son was born on June 20, 1937. In 1965 he sold the farm and moved to Kelowna and later made his home in Abbotsford. Nellie and Bill did lots of traveling to the Holy Land and Scandinavian Countries. Dad leaves behind his only son Reginald wife Dorene and 3 grandchildren: Kevin (Kim), Lori (Roger), Darrell (Ursula); his 5 great grandchildren: Trevor, Trina, Kaitlyn-Ann, Nicole and Anthony; his 3 sisters Ada Grose, Ellen Grose, Martha Clark; many nieces, nephews, their children and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 7:00 - 9:00 pm from Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd. Abbotsford. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 18 at 1:00 pm from Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly, 3145 Gladwin Rd., Abbotsford. Burial will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to P.A. of C. Missions in care of the church.
