In Loving Memory
Don Wilson of Abbotsford, BC, passed away unexpectedly June 2, 2009 at the age of 77.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kerry, five children, Debbie (Glen), Steve, Linda, Stan (Susan), Cameron (fiancée Lola), five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and sister Pat (Bill) Hardy. He was predeceased by his first wife, Shirley. Don attended Burnaby South High School, was winner of the Citizenship Award (1949) then graduated Senior Matric with honors in 1950. After receiving a scholarship from UBC, he continued studies at the Banff School of Advanced Management and began his career as a Certified Management Accountant. Don was a director of various boards, had a great love of music, dancing and sports. He taught fitness at Vancouver YMCA & volunteered with the Boy Scouts. After moving to Abbotsford, he coached Minor Hockey, slow-pitch and softball, and volunteered with the Whalers Swim Club. A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 11, 2009, at 2:00 pm at Henderson's Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.
