William “Bill” SZABO

William “Bill” Szabo peacefully passed away on May 16, 2005 at the age of 100 at Menno Home, Abbotsford.

He is lovingly remembered by son Steve Szabo; daughter Elsie Timar; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews in Europe.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Albina and a sister.

Bill came to Canada in 1929 and resided in Abbotsford, working in the tobacco fields and moved to New Westminster in 1935 where he worked in the Fraser Saw Mills and started his career in farming. He moved back to Abbotsford in 1947 where he and Albina started dairy farming until his retirement 1963. In his retirement he opened MSA Billiards which was later run by his son.

Prayers will be held on Thursday evening at 6:00 pm at St. Ann’s Parish, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 20, 2005 at 10:00 am at St. Ann’s Parish. Burial will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery.
