Wikje, “Vicky” Boonstra suddenly passed away on June 8, 2006 into the presence of her Lord and Saviour at the age of 85 years. She was born on November 4, 1920 in Friesland, The Netherlands.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred Boonstra, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is lovingly remembered by her children Hilly (Gayle), Bill (Marilyn), Betty Neubauer, Pietje (Chuck) Riches, and Fred (Susan). 9 grandÂchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends in both The Netherlands and Canada. And special companion, her dog Rexie.
Vicky was a long time resident of Abbotsford since 1953. Vicky loved gardening, she was very proud of her flowers. All the family gatherings were especially dear to her heart.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13 from 7 - 9 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 11:00 am from Henderson’s Funeral Home at 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC with Pastor David Epp officiating. Burial will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery. Following the service a reception will be held in the tea room. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, MS Society of Canada, or to Canadian Cancer in memory of Vicky.
