Walter Richard Smith passed away on March 23, 2004 at Grand Street Lodge, Mission, B.C. at the age of 81. Predeceased by Betty his wife of 55 years in 2001. Walter will be fondly remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and a very special friend to many. Walter was a brave, strong soldier througout his battle with cancer. His gentle nature and sharp wit carried him gracefully through life. Though dearly missed, he will never be forgotten. He will live on in out hearts and memories forever. Walter was an active member in the Royal Canadian Legion, Branches #57 and #259.
A viewing will be held Saturday, March 27, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne St. Mission, B.C. Memorial Service to be held on Sunday, March 28, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Mission, 32627 Logan Avenue, Mission, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branches #57 and #259 Clearwater.
