Victoria L. (nee Hadden) MATTKA

April 6, 2005

Victoria L. (nee Hadden)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victoria L. Mattka after a courageous ongoing battle with a liver problem. On April 6, 2005 with her husband and daughters at her side, Victoria slipped quietly away to her peace.

Victoria was born on August 27, 1951 in New Westminster to Howard and Lillian Hadden of East Delta, BC where she grew up on a dairy farm. Her early years where taken up with animals and she was very active in 4-H. The family bought a farm in Enderby, BC and moved there to start a new adventure. After finishing high school, Victoria returned to the coast to study Interior Design. In 1977 she moved to Abbotsford and worked hard for a number of people but as an accountant she found her greatest joy. Victoria will be greatly missed by those who she worked for and with.

Victoria is survived by her most loving husband Douglas, of 25 years, and daughters Amanda (20) and Jacqueline Rose (18). She is also survived by her parents Howard and Lillian Hadden; her grandmother Mini Halcro; brothers Harry (Darlene), Tom (Donna) and Sam (Shannon) as well as numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and many friends.

We would especially like to thank the ICU and 3 West staff for their loving care that was given to Victoria and her family during her stay at the Abbotsford Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at the New Apostolic Church in Abbotsford on April 16, 2005 at 11:00 am. The church is located at 2480 McMillan Rd., Abbotsford, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully appreciated to the BC Transplant Foundation.
