Verna Elizabeth LYBECK (nee: LANG)

Verna Elizabeth Lybeck passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Vancouver General Hospital at age 87 years. She was predeceased by her husband Tony (1993) and son Dennis (2004). Verna is survived by her daughters Donna (Stan Ormsby) and Elizabeth (Bruce Norris); five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother Russ Lang; and many nieces and nephews. She was born in 1917 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. Verna was a long time resident of Stave Falls and Mission, working many years for the Fraser Valley Home Makers. She was a 30-year member of the Royal Purple, and was their pianist and also played for many other lodges in the lower mainland. Verna was an active member of the Mission O.A.P.O. and also volunteered at Pleasant View Care Home as a pianist. In her spare time Verna enjoyed game shows, hockey, her pets and her garden. Her friends enjoyed her sense of humour and called her the Road Runner as she was always on the go. She will be sadly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at

3:30 pm at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne St. Mission, BC. A reception will follow at the Elks Hall at 33336 — 2nd Ave., Mission. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Elks and Royal Purple Children’s Fund, Mission Lodge.
