CORNIES Vern 1948 ~ 2012. Vern passed away peacefully in his 64th year on February 21st after a very courageous journey with lung cancer. He was predeceased by both parents Abram and Mary Cornies and his sisters Hedy and Leona. He leaves behind his LOML (Love of My Life) and best friend, his wife of 45 years, Karilyn, his daughter Kim (Dale) grandsons Jakob and Nicholas and his son Michael (Tina) and grandson Joshua. He also leaves his brothers Ernie (Sheila) and Walter (Margaret), and many family members and friends. Vern was a journeyman carpenter and loved to work with all things construction and wood. Although, family was the most important part of his life. "Family" for Vern meant more than just genetics. Many counted him as a dear part of their lives. He loved to golf, have coffee with friends and vacation in Mexico. A celebration of his life will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, Feb. 25th at Sevenoaks Alliance, 2575 Gladwin Road. Vern (Dad), you will be dearly missed and live forever in our hearts ~ 'til we meet again'. In lieu of flowers donations to the Christine Morrison Hospice in Vern's name would be so welcomed.
