STEWART, Thelma Elaine "Nana"

Thelma Stewart passed away on November 5 at the Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission after a long battle with Cancer. Thelma was predeceased by her devoted husband Louis and her granddaughter Kristie Cavacece by a mere 6 hours. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Alex and Linda Stewart, James and Abby Stewart and Cindy Stewart. Her grandchildren, Ben Cavacece, Rebecca and Steven Ternes and John and Amber Stewart. Her great grandchildren, Laura, Claire Catherine and Alexander. Thelma was born in Winnipeg and after the war married the love of her life. She was a military wife, moving across Canada and the United States before settling in Abbotsford to be close to her grandchildren. Thelma and her husband were active members of the Golden Kiwanis. Thelma was a talented seamstress who created beautiful quilts for those she loved. She was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We miss her so much. We would like to thank the staff of the Christine Morrison Hospice for the loving care they provided to Nana as well as Robin Kitagawa who is our angel here on earth.

A celebration of her life will be held on November 12, 2009, at 1 p.m at the Cascade Community Church in Abbotsford with the Rev. Dr. Hans Kouwenberg officiating. Donations can be made to the Christine Morrison Hospice, the BC Cancer Foundation or the Calvin Presbyterian Church building fund in her memory.
