PETERS, Kay was born in Blumenhof, Southern Saskatchewan, the middle child of five. She began her elementary schooling in Neville. The family moved to BC in 1944 where she finished high school at MEI in Abbotsford. She completed the nurses program at VGH and studied further to obtain a BSN degree from UBC. She took her MA in Eugene, OR and received her PhD from New York University. Kay had a wealth of working positions during her career: she taught in Congo, Africa under the Board of MB Missions, served with the VON in and around Trail, BC, worked as student counselor at Lane Community College in Eugene, OR, was part of the staff of psychologists at Matsqui Psychiatric center, and was on the team of psychologists who served clients in the Fraser Health Unit from Boston Bar to Abbotsford. She spent her last years in retirement in Clearbrook. Viewing will take place on Monday, April 11, 2005 from 7 — 9 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 11:00 am at Maclure Rd. Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at Bakerview MB Church, 2285 Clearbrook Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kay’s honor to the Bakerview MB Church Congo Fund
