Susan “Sue” Daphne
Sue was born in Victoria, BC on December 4, 1934 and passed away peacefully at home in Abbotsford, BC. on November 7, 2006.
Predeceased by her husband Arthur (Art) Frederick Baker (1992); father Francis Dean Davidson; mother Beatrice Lucy Barclay (1985); infant daughter Maureen (1957); and stepson Ed Baker.
Sue will be lovingly remembered by her family: Colleen Olund (Ron Rickaby)- TJ Baker, Leanne (Jason) Payne, Jesse Olund; Correen Hansen- Lindsay, Victoria, (stepchildren: Trisha-Sean-Amy, Bruce (Elsa) Baker, Elma (Hugh-d) Pawl; sister Ann (Bob) Simpson, Bunny (Shirley) Davidson, Ian (Betty) Davidson, Don (Ann) Davidson; extended family Richard (Elena) Oldenborger – Dasha Oldenborger, Barbara Oldenborger and many other friends and relatives.
Sue and Art were married on July 8, 1955 in Edmonton, Alberta. Sue was co-proprietor of Galaxy Bowl. She was also an avid sports fan. Her favorite teams were the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Blue Jays, and BC Lions. She enjoyed shopping and gambling. She was pretty lucky and really enjoyed playing the slots. She used to work at the Wildwood training center and Teddy Bear café. She later found her calling in life at Galaxy Bowl, which became her passion for 35+ years; second only, to her family and friends.
Sue’s celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Cascade Community Church on 35190 Delair Road, Abbotsford.
