Stephen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 29th at the Cottage Pavilion in Abbotsford, B.C. in his 87th year.
Born in Saskatchewan, he moved to Vancouver in 1944 where he met Olga Elizabeth and married in 1949. He was a generous and loving man and cared deeply for his four children; Daniel Stephen, Donna Faye, Robert Duane and Russell William and seven grandchildren. Stephen was predeceased by his loving wife Olga in October 1980 and his youngest son Russell in February 1992.
Stephen worked 27 years as head chef at the Heather Pavilion at the Vancouver General Hospital. He was adored by many children in Abbotsford for over 15 years for his service as a school traffic patroller. His light sense of humour, love for dancing and country music made him many friends throughout his life. For his last 12 years he enjoyed the companionship of his partner Gussy Potter. A quiet graveside service will be provided for family and friends on tuesday, July 6th at 1:30 p.m. at Hazelwood Cemetery in Abbotsford.
