Special thanks to the nursing staff of the Mission Memorial Hospital and the Extended Care Unit. In Stephen’s professional life he was an accountant. In the past he owned and operated a candy store called the Treasure Nook in Mission and was known to many in the community as the candy man. He had a love for children whom would call him “Uncle Steve”. He loved fishing, the outdoors, was a bingo guru and always played the same numbers waiting for “the big one” on the lotteries. He was actively involved for many years with Mission Elks, Native Housing, Friendship Centre and Welton Towers. Stephen was a very generous man and as a final gesture he gave the gift of sight by donating his eyes. Donations may be made in Stephen’s memory to the Diabetes Society, Arthritis Society and Mission Women’s Resource Centre in assisting single mothers.
