BABICHUK ~ Stefan "Steve"
Loving father, grandfather, brother, and companion, Steve passed away suddenly on December 25, 2008. Steve was born March 9, 1927 into a large farming family outside of the small town of Insinger, just west of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. After attending college in Saskatoon, Steve moved to Regina where he worked for the government, and later joined Commercial Credit where he worked for most of his career in management.
His career took him and his family across Canada living in five provinces, before moving to and later retiring in Abbotsford. Steve was predeceased by his wife Gladys of 42 years, parents Sam and Annie and siblings: Dorie, Kay, Matt, Mike, Nick, Lawrence and John. Steve will be greatly missed by his companion Margaret Circolo, daughters Teddy (Ian Forsyth), Carri (Greg Klapstein), grandchildren: Zoe, Ava, Maxwell, Madison and Bryce, sisters Eleanor (Glen Saunders), Fran Jost, and brothers Al (Kay), and Gerry (Donna). In his later years, Steve enjoyed travelling, fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandkids.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Henderson Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
