Sheila Rushton passed peacefully early Sunday morning, July 30th, 2017 after losing a nine year battle with ALS. She handled the disease with a dignity and mental toughness that few could match. Sheila was a joy to be around and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two sons David (Julie) and Jono Rushton. Sheila grew up in Kerrisdale and moved to the Fraser Valley in the late 60s when she married and had her children. She started working in the family business, McClary Stockyards, at that time. She later went on to run the business with her brother and then her two sons. She was a hard working, successful business woman and a loved mother and grandmother of six. There will be a celebration of life Monday, August 7, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at her home on Majuba Hill in Yarrow.
