Sarah Doris received her "heavenly promotion" at the age of 87 on Friday morning (May 21). Loving family (Tom, husband of 62 years, daughter Marianne), friends (Cathy Hadden & Menno Home staff) gathered by her bedside. Sarah Doris is the last of the three MacAllister girls, leaving behind husband Tom, children Bruce & Marianne, grandchildren Melissa, Laura, Matthew, Kieran, Juliesa & great-grandchild, Tiara. Sarah Doris was born in Toronto, Ontario; she attended secretarial school and a 1-year program at Canadian Bible Institute prior to working as a secretary for Maple Leaf Milling & the Oshawa Clinic. Doris and Tom married Sept. 4, 1948, after meeting on a blind date in 1945. Doris impacted many lives through her spirit of hospitality, as a Sunday School teacher and Youth Sponsor. Husband Tom cared for her daily over the past six years at Menno Home and longs for the day when he will be reunited with his beloved Sarah. Celebration of Doris' life will be on Wed.
