Samuel Richard

May 1, 1926 – August 20, 2006

With profound sadness the passing on of Samuel Richard Randle is announced. Richard, had a long career in Canada’s Armed Forces, P.P.C.L.I., and Army Pay Corps. The highlight of his career was his promotion from the ranks to officer status. He served in Canada and Germany and with the U.N. in Gaza.

Richard was predeceased by his father, John Richard Randle, in 1931; his stepfather, Wilmer Brooks, in 1975; his mother Mary Lelia (King) Randle, Brooks, in 1985 and his brother, John S. Randle, in 2006.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Helen whom he married in Soest, Germany, in 1957; his sister Agnes (Brooks) Lewandowski (Edward); his ­sister-in-law, Jean Jamieson, of Carlton Place Ontario; her family Patricia Black, Sandra Latham, Greg Jamieson (Tonya and Caleb); her grandchildren, Cindy Billing (Kevin), Jamie Black, Lindsay Latham and her great grandchildren, Brock, Charlotte and Avery Billing.

The family extends sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and volunteers of Christine Morrison Hospice for their compassionate care of Richard.

At Richard’s request, no formal service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined.
