Samuel Alexander Mcdonald

June 9, 2005

Samuel Alexander passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at the age of 82, at the Mission Memorial Hospital. Sam was born in 1923 on the family farm, which was established on Nicomen Island in 1865. Sam, a pioneer farmer, was the last of his family’s generation. He will be remembered as a well respected, hard working, soft spoken, thoughtful & kind man who enjoyed simple pleasures. Although retired from active farming, he was always quick to enter into a conversation regarding crop conditions or the inaccuracy of the latest weather report or to share a joke. Even though Sam & his wife Sylvia had travelled extensively, his favorite place was home on the farm surrounded by family & friends. Sam is survived by his wife Sylvia, daughter Julie, sons Robert, Brian, Dean & nine grandchildren. It was Sam’s wish to be cremated & to remain on Nicomen Island. The family will host an open house at their home on McDonald Road from 2:00pm onwards on Saturday, June 18, 2005. All welcome.
