Ruth Mary (nee Halden) left us peacefully after a lengthy illness to join her Savior on December 1, 2002. Ruth was born in Winnipeg, Man. in 1918, the eldest of three children. She moved with her family to Vancouver in 1930. A committed Christian and accomplished pianist. Ruth married Harold McCarthy in 1941.
During the war, with Harold overseas, Ruth worked as a war bond administrator for Vancouver shipyards. After the war, the McCarthy's raised a family in North and West Vancouver.
Predeceased by her parents, Bill and Christine; her brother Ken, and infant daughter Brenda. Ruth is survived by husband Harold, her sister Elaine, sons Kenneth (Marcia), Paul, Barry, Rebecca), Myron (Marcella), daughter Maria, and four grandchildren.
Ruth led a long, full life dedicated to her family. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered.

Memorial Service to be held on Thursday, December 5th at 2:00 p.m., at the Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly, 3145 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christian Charity of your choice.
