Ruth E. Andrews

Ruth E. Andrews (nee Johnston) passed away quietly at MSA Hospital, Abbotsford BC on 30 December with family by her side. She was born at Rouleau, SK on 8 April 1921 and moved to Abbotsford in 1946. She is survived by her loving husband Jack in their 60th year of marriage, their children Gord (Susan), Tricia (Clive), John (Ivana), and Roberta (Grant). Also by grandchildren Katie (Jeff and new great grandson Max), Thomas, Patrick (Angie), Stacey (Chris), Christopher, Daniel, Jessica, and Alicia. Ruth is survived by family in Regina SK: Arthur (Hazel), Lois, Howard (Neoma) and Dale (Joan) and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing at Henderson's is from 7:00-9:00 pm on Friday, January 5. A graveside service for family will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6 at Hazelwood Cemetery, Abbotsford followed by a family service at Trinity Memorial United Church. An open house will be held at 33064 Mill Lake Road on Saturday, Jan 6 from 2:00-5:00 pm. Come and share memories of Ruth.

Ruth was a devoted Mom and Grandmother and family was her focus. She loved being at home with all the family mementos and pictures. She had been active in the PTA, UCW and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed square dancing, puzzles, the Lions, Riders, Blue Jays and Canucks. Ruth did her Registered Nurse training at the Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, worked as a nurse in Vancouver and Abbotsford and later as a part-time Public Health nurse.

Ruth touched many lives with her loving and caring ways.
