On Saturday December 30, 2017, Russell Ard Lamont of Abbotsford passed away suddenly in his home at the age of 90.
Russell or "Rusty" as he was known among his friends is fondly remembered by his sons Bruce and Brian, his daughter Carol (Scott) Smith and his Grandson Marshal.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Bernece or "Bunny".
Russell will be remembered for his solid quiet demeanor and his love of the outdoors. His prized vegetable garden was surrounded by his yard, where numerous trees, flowers, and orbiting fruit and berry patches flourished.
Russell enjoyed being outside, walking with his friend Jimmy and in earlier days fishing and hunting. In later years, outside involved tending his flowers and befriending the neighborhood cats that always found the back porch a safe haven and a good place for a snooze and snack.
Raised in Mission, Russell never lost his connection to his first home, working, fishing and visiting his friends and family in this nearby town. As a Power Pioneer, Russell was a respected member of the BC Hydro community after spending the majority of his working life with BC Hydro and these colleagues.
Russell, you will be missed but always remembered by us.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday January 6th, 2018 at 11 AM at Cascade Community Church, 35190 Delair Road, Abbotsford.
