Roy YASUDA

August 10, 2005

Mr. Roy Yasuda, late of Abbotsford, passed away suddenly on August 10, 2005 at the age of 59 years, while fishing with friends.

He is survived by his brother Fred; sister Jean; cousin Paul; Aunt Mary; Uncles Karl and Fred; his cat Preston, and many very special friends. He was predeceased by his mother Kifumi (Kay).

Roy worked as a logger on the Island and had a number of different jobs as a young man. He retired six months ago from his job as a corrections officer in Abbotsford. He was an avid fisherman and loved nature, animals, and "hunting" for mushrooms. He enjoyed drawing, photography, Bonsai and horticulture and was just getting into lapidary and jewelry making. Roy was always there to lend a helping hand, especially to those close to him. He will be sadly missed by those who knew him.

A viewing will be held from 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Friday, August 19, 2005 at Henderson's Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Rd., Abbotsford. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home in Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations to the BC Children's Hospital or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Roy.
