It is with great sorrow that our family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Roy Andersen. After a brief illness he passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, September 29, 2004 at M.S.A.Hospital in Abbotsford, B.C. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years Hilda, mother Alfild, mother-in-law Marie, three sons Randy (Sabine), Glen (Caralee), Rick (Teresa), grandchildren Ryan, Kristina, Michael, Coltan, Keegan, Dustin, Desiree, Brooke, Marissa, Kallen, niece Kim and the rest of his extended family throughout B.C. and Norway. He is predeceased by his father Pete and sister Annie. After 35 years working as a banker, Roy was able to express his love to work with his hands, working in building maintenance for the Langley Lodge. He was a skilled craftsman with an innate ability to dive into any project and tackle it with ease and was always there to offer a helping hand. Through the years he loved volunteering his time serving as treasurer of Western Speedway in Victoria, manager of the Chilliwack Jets hockey club, treasurer of the WCJHL hockey league, Western Canada summer Games, and treasurer of the Abbotsford baseball Association where he was instrumental in bringing senior mens baseball to Abbotsford. In retirement he enjoyed travelling in his R.V., fishing, playing pool every morning, and sharing his love of sports with his children and grandchildren. His wisdom and generosity was always there to anyone who asked. He will always be in our hearts.
