ROBERT HARTWIG

Robert Leroy Hartwig of Mission, B.C., born to Mary and Jacob Hartwig April 19, 1931 in Sumas, Washington, passed away on May 1, 2004 in Vancouver, B.C. Bob grew up in Sumas Washington, where he met Margaret (Peggy) Stein, and they were married on September 27, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. Bob excelled at many hobbies, including car restoration, woodcarving, hunting, fishing and taxidermy. He is predeceased by his son Michael George, and is survived by his loving wife Peggy; sons Bob (Jean) of Rupert, Idaho and Dave (Deb) of Ashcroft, B.C.; daughters Michelle (Richard) Held of Bellingham, WA, Tammy Biagioni of Merrit, B.C., Pam Gartwig, of Langley, B.C. and Tonya (Rick) Hooge of Mission, B.C.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth of Kettle Falls, WA, half brothers George of Longview, WA, and Dick of White Rock, B.C.; and half sisters Darlene of Kettle Falls, Wa and Shirley of Stanwood, WA.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne Street, Mission, B.C. If desired, donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
