Mr. Robert “Bob” John Hand, late of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away on January 16, 2007, at the age of 84 at MSA Hospital, Abbotsford, BC.
He is survived by Mary - his loving wife of 61 years; his three sons - John (Yvonne), Danny (Lorraine), Michael (Enid); his grandchildren - Eric (Tasha), Jason (April), Tiffany (Josh) Oswald, Christopher, David, and Elise, as well as his great-grandchildren: Alycia, Cody, Cheyenne, R.J., Trevor, and Kayla, and his sister Erma Hackney.
He was predeceased by his Âmother Catherine Victoria Hand and his father John Joseph Hand, his two sisters - Myrtle and Margaret, and his two Âbrothers - Eric and Joseph. And his Âdaughter-in-law Heather (Danny) Hand.
He worked for 30 years with Ontario Hydro in Toronto. After retirement he moved to Havelock where he was a very active member of the Royal Canadian Legion there. He spent his first 10 years with the Legion as the President of Branch 389 in Havelock. He was then Deputy Zone Commander, and Zone Commander. In 1992, he relocated to the Fraser Valley.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Rd. Abbotsford, BC.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so, may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Prostate Cancer Research Foundation in memory of Bob.
