Robert Durward Galbraith

Bob passed away peacefully on July 19, 2004, after a long battle with kidney disease. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Thelma and daughters: Jan (Rob) McCaghren, and Barb (Darell) Munro. Also grandchildren Geoff (Michelle) Lobley, Kathy (Ed) Moore, Mathew Munro and Ryan Munro, and his sister Winnifred Laing of Bear Canyon, Alberta.

He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Sam.

He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.

Many thanks to the staff at the Dialysis Centres in Abbotsford, and Royal Columbian Hospital, the MSA Hospital, as well as the ambulance drivers and attendants for the wonderful care he received.

Bob was born on August 25, 1924, In Rosser, Manitoba, where he grew up. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and after the war he enjoyed many years working in the grain industry at Strong-Scott Limited, in Winnipeg and Vancouver and Industrial Equipment in Vancouver, and later had his own sales agency. He had a passion for life, loved to play golf, and belonged to Seymour Golf & Country Club, and Chilliwack Golf & Country Club.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 6, at 2:00 pm at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 2597 Bourquin Crescent, Abbotsford.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, BC Branch, 320 - 1600 W. 6th Ave. Vancouver, B.C. would be greatly appreciated.
