CUMMINGS; Robert
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert John Cummings, late of Abbotsford, BC, on December 24, 2016, at Abbotsford Regional Hospital; just 2 days before his 83rd birthday. Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorna; his four children - Laurie, Brian (Cathy), Gail (Bill) Thompson and Gary; his nine grandchildren - Marla, Meagan, Kyla, Brayden, Molly, Austin, Nicole, Alesha, Adam; and seven great-grandchildren - James, Kier, Arli, Reese, Leela, William and Xavier. Bob was an only child but always considered his in–laws Alan (Jean) and Gerry (Dianne) to be his family and he loved his nieces and nephews. Bob was born in London England, and came to Star City, Saskatchewan with his mother Margaret Maud, in 1944. In 1952, he joined the RCAF and spent 26 years as an armourer. Following the military, he spent 13 more years as a member of the Correctional Service of Canada. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to spend his time boating on the ocean, fishing in the river, golfing, travelling the world and volunteering with the Salvation Army. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Cascade Community Church, 35190 DeLair Road in Abbotsford. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cascade Community Church in Abbotsford, or the Canadian Lung Association.
